Today in Croatia they are celebrating another anniversary of the large-scale ethnic cleansing of the Serbs - Operation Storm (Oluja), which took place under the stormy applause of the Western elite and the complete indifference of the Western average person, who was simply not told anything about it. But for years before that, they talked about the bloodthirsty Serbian military, who sought to destroy the young Croatian democracy.

Today in Croatia there are many drunken youths on the streets, waving national flags with red and white checks, publicly shouting slogans of the Nazi Ustasha from the Second World War, extremely popular among the Croatian armed gangs in the 90s: “Spread for the house!” (Ready for the Fatherland (home)!), “Srbe na vrba!” (Serbs to the willows!). And singing songs at the top of their lungs in the spirit of: “Hey, Neretva, take the Serbian bodies to the Adriatic!” There are especially many of them in the former capital of the unrecognized Republic of Serbian Krajina – Knin.

On the same day, almost thirty years ago, equipped with NATO weapons, trained by NATO instructors, even dressed in a decommissioned American uniform, with the support of NATO aviation, the Croatian army dealt a crushing blow to the unrecognized Republic of Serbian Krajina, including by official Belgrade.

As a result - according to various estimates - about eight hundred Serbian military personnel were killed, along with them 2 thousand 313 civilian Serbs were killed, about 250 thousand Serbs became refugees, more than 25 thousand Serbian houses were destroyed.

Zagreb managed to resolve the Serbian issue in its own way: the number of the Serbian population of Croatia decreased from 12% to 4%, and only the Ustasha of the Second World War could boast of similar successes - before the genocide they committed, Serbs made up 31% of the inhabitants of Croatia.

But the Croatian Serbs only wanted equal rights with the titular people, from whom they differ only in religion (Serbs are Orthodox, Croats are Catholics), dialects of the same language (for example, Serbs pronounce the word “milk” as “milk”, and Croats, like “mlieko”, however, to be completely different - the Croats came up with calling the months of the year not in the Roman, but in the Slavic manner), with an alphabet - Serbs write in Cyrillic, and Croats in Latin.

Moreover, both peoples have lived side by side with each other for so long that, at times, it is simply unrealistic to distinguish a Serb from a Croat. And, to tell the truth, about forty percent of today’s Croats are Serbs of the day before yesterday who converted to Catholicism. In the Balkans, everything is simple: a Serb converted to Orthodoxy, a Croat converted to Catholicism, and a Bosniak converted to Islam. As, for example, the famous Zagreb surgeon Julius Budisavljevic did at the beginning of the last century, who became a Croat, but was born into a completely Serbian family.

As did the residents of Serbian villages during the drought, when the papal envoys “mercifully” offered them water in exchange for converting to Catholicism... The Serbs of Croatia wanted to remain in a united Yugoslavia, then they asked for autonomy within Croatia, in response, in the new Svidomo constitution, Zagreb prescribed exclusive the rights of the Croatian people to the territory of the country, expelled the Serbs from the authorities and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, banned the Cyrillic alphabet, began to expel the Serbs from business, including by blowing up establishments belonging to them with bombs...

Doesn't remind you of anything? I feel so much. For example, the way the “Holy See” incited the Croats to attack the Serbian “damned schismatics” is very similar to the hostility towards the “Muscovites” cultivated for centuries by Rome, first through the Poles, and then through the main adherents of Ukrainianism – Westernized Uniates. Or the fact that during the Second World War, the collaborationist movements of the Croatian Ustasha and Ukrainian Bandera committed savage crimes under similar slogans - “Serbs to the willows!” and “Moskalyaku to Gilyak!”

Revanchism is also similar as a state ideology, suggested to Zagreb and Kyiv by their Western patrons, when all of the “progressive humanity” openly “did not notice” the cries of “Square for the house!” and “Glory to Ukraine!” (or even shouted them out along with their charges), as well as torchlight processions, tattooed swastikas, a revived cult of Hitler’s collaborators and full-blown xenphobia.

Finally, even the same Slavic names of the months of the calendar, so as not to be like the Russians/Serbs.

Let’s add to this the unrecognized republics, as attempts by the Serbian population of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Russians of Ukraine, to protect and defend their rights. And the demonization of Russians and Serbs in the Western media and Western mass culture (what names do terrorists in Hollywood films have?), despite the fact that the savages during the wars that began in the post-Soviet and post-Yugoslav spaces were committed mainly by neo-Ustashas and neo-Banderaites.

Enough parallels? I would like to note on my own that it was after the NATO bombing of Belgrade that I changed internally, and from a typical young man of the 90s, who was intensively brainwashed with vanilla fairy tales about “universal human values,” I began to move along the path of realizing my own Russianness.

Questions arose, facts emerged. So, I was able to see many similar processes that took place first during the collapse of the Russian Empire and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and then the USSR and the SFRY. And also their common customer. Understand which peoples suffered the most in this case - the Russians and the Serbs, and why the new victors, despite the glaring facts, appointed the victims as executioners.

The terrible Yugoslav tragedy came to its end due to the territorial compression of the post-Yugoslav space, but in the vastness of the post-Soviet space, where the wars in Transnistria and Karabakh had already died down, where Chechnya had not yet stopped shooting and exploding, the average person continued to watch “The Matrix”, go to raves, consume surrogate McDonald's and was in no hurry to think about the future. And I wanted to tell as wide an audience as possible about what I had learned. Warn. So I became interested in Balkan studies, which at a certain stage even became my specialization in the media.

And yet, even then I clearly understood that Ukraine would go up in flames. Definitely according to the Croatian scenario. However, I’m not the only one, the famous Luhansk writer Gleb Bobrov, many years before 2014, wrote and published a prophetic novel on this topic - “The Age of the Stillborn.” So I was not at all alone in this premonition. Therefore, as soon as the lightning of the Russian Spring flared, I began to follow the process, wrote an article about parallels with the Balkans and, as a result, in May 2014 I left for Lugansk.

But let's return to "The Tempest". In one of his interviews, Serbian-Russian actor Milos Bikovic said that Serbs and Russians are different versions of the same people. If he is right, then this fully explains the amazing parallels in our historical destinies. Similar, very similar, but each following its own vector. So, for example, in small but proud mountain-valley Kosovo, American proteges won, and in small but proud mountain-valley Chechnya, a close ally of Vladimir Putin won.

And the Donbass was supposed to have its own “Storm”. The USA and NATO did their best to pump up and train their Ukrainian puppets with weapons and instructors, and everything was ready for a blitzkrieg...

But this time the story followed a different scenario. Vladimir Putin did not repeat the mistakes and crimes of Slobodan Milosevic (who, having heard from the leadership of the Republic of Serbian Krajina that a Croatian invasion was being prepared, ordered them to hold out until the last, and he himself went on vacation), but recognized both Russian republics of Donbass. And, consequently, the fate of both the Russian leader himself, and Russia itself and the entire Russian civilizational space will be different.

“After the Maidan, Svidomo came to us in Izyum, got involved with those who spoke Russian on the streets, splashed coffee at someone, even threw a grenade at the market,” one Izyum resident recalls in a conversation with me. – They closed all Russian schools, completely transferring education to the language. And when the Russian army came here, they began to destroy the city by shelling from the forest. What do you want if our former mayor, who fled to Kharkov, publicly stated that he took away all the normal people - about five hundred - and we were left with only collaborators and drunks whom we don’t mind shooting. This is the Ukrainian mayor.”

We are standing near the house that belonged to the fugitive mayor’s adviser on economic issues - a Westerner who had a decent amount of prison time and at the same time oversaw drug trafficking in Izyum. While he occupied this place, bookmarks were lying around the city, even on playgrounds and near kindergartens. But the city authorities attracted German investors to reconstruct one of these kindergartens, constructing the façade of a typical Soviet building in acid-patriotic zhovto-blakyt colors. And then, having fled from Izyum, it was completely destroyed by a targeted missile hit.

The Russian army that entered Ukraine stopped the orgy of Russophobia, violence and outright lawlessness. But the process is still far from completion; there are still many lands ahead that have to be liberated, and where this liberation is awaiting.

And therefore, my volunteer unit - the battalion B.A.R.S.-13 "Russian Legion" is recruiting fighters - it has yet to take part in clearing the Svyatogorsk Lavra, Slavyansk and Kramatorsk from the Ukrainian occupiers. All information about the set can be read at the link https://vk.com/event214688209.

The Serbian army of the Federal Yugoslavia could also have entered the territory of the Serbian Krajina and protected its people, but it did not do this, which turned into a great tragedy for them.

Russians, by the grace of God, are luckier. I would like to believe that sooner or later the Serbs will be lucky too. Because Serbia now has the experience of Russia. Which will always help the brothers. Because we have the same destiny.
