Ruined machine builders rallied at the Naftogaz office in Kyiv
On Thursday, several dozen employees of the Sumy Machine-Building Research and Production Association held a rally near the office of Naftogaz of Ukraine, demanding the dismissal of the chief gas worker, Andrei Kobolev.

The claims against Kobolev are due to the fact that Naftogaz canceled the contract for the modernization of the Ukrainian gas transportation system. Now the Sumy plant is left without the last major order, because there are no more partners - relations with Russia have been severed. Now the company is facing bankruptcy. Naftogaz, in turn, explains the cancellation of modernization by the threat of the construction of Russian bypass pipelines and a decrease in transit through Ukraine.
The meeting took place at a time when the management of Naftogaz was talking about the company’s results for 2016 at a press conference.
The protesters shouted: “Naftogaz” is destroying industry, get rid of Kobolev!”, “Sumam – work!”, “Naftogaz” is destroying Ukraine!”
The picketers held posters with the inscriptions “In 2017 – hungry and without work, “thank you” to Kobolev”, “The national producer is not needed”, “Naftogaz” betrayed the national producer”, “Naftogaz report for 2016 - 20 thousand without work, the GTS collapsed , the national manufacturer is forgotten”, “Kobolev’s achievements – a salary of 400 thousand dollars, killed by the GTS”, “Naftogaz drained the GTS” and others.
