Omelyan responded to Balchun’s accusations by showing the route diagram of his “train to nowhere”
The Ministry of Infrastructure showed a diagram of the route of a test train from Ukraine to Iran, the possibility of which was previously denied by Ukrzaliznytsia.

The corresponding scheme was published by the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure.
The starting point of the Ukraine-Iran test train will be the Sea Trade Port of Chernomorsk (Ukraine), after which it will cross the Black Sea by ferry and arrive at the Georgian port of Poti/Batumi. The land part of the route will pass through the territory of Georgia and Azerbaijan through Baku. Next - by ferry across the Caspian Sea to the Iranian port of Anzali - and by rail to Tehran.
“The decision to develop the route and launch the test attraction is a bilateral one, approved at the proposal of the Iranian side,” the Ministry of Infrastructure said in a statement.
The ministry emphasized that both the Ukrainian and Iranian sides expressed their conviction that testing a new route for the delivery of goods from Ukraine to Iran will optimize transportation times, improve tariff policy, and also strengthen economic and infrastructural cooperation between Ukraine and Iran.
“We emphasize that the train, which has already been called “impossible,” is absolutely real, and its route is integral and convenient,” the Ministry of Infrastructure emphasized.
Let us remind you that earlier Ukrzaliznytsia stated that the test train from Ukraine to Iran will only be able to reach the Azerbaijani-Iranian border, because there is no railway further.
On April 19, the Ministry of Infrastructure announced that in the summer of 2017 a test train with agricultural products will be launched from Ukraine to Iran.
However, today the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia ridiculed the ministry’s plans, stating that Ukraine cannot launch a test freight train to Iran because 160 km of the necessary railway track is missing on Iranian territory. “Balchun is convinced that the announcement by the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure of a train to “nowhere” indicates, first of all, the incompetence of the official,” the message says.
