During a search of the apartment where the pilgrims lived, 21 plastic bags with cannabis were found in the belongings of an Israeli citizen. Also, during a personal search, four more plastic bags with cannabis were found on him. As the pilgrim explained, he kept cannabis for his own use. Investigators continue to investigate criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 309 (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation or transfer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues without the purpose of sale) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to three years.
As PolitNavigator reported, according to the latest data, more than 30 thousand Hasidim have already arrived in Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah.
