“7 thousand UAH is the main financial security, 10 thousand UAH is an additional payment; it begins when the soldier has spent a full month in the ATO. In addition, if a soldier directly took part in hostilities or shot down enemy equipment, an additional bonus is paid.”

This was announced at a briefing in Kyiv by the Deputy Head of the Department of Finance of the Ministry of Defense Sergei Galimsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the department’s press service.
According to him, soldiers receive this salary from September 1 of this year.
Galimsky noted that the salaries of military personnel of the Airborne Forces and Marine Corps are higher than those of military personnel of other units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The volume of expenses in 2017 allows us to fully ensure the payment of monetary support at the level of no less than 2016, and wages, taking into account the increase in the minimum wage in the state,” he emphasized.
According to a representative of the Ministry of Defense, the defense department has sufficient funds to restore weapons and military equipment, train troops, and maintain and improve communication systems.
“At the moment, there is no debt in payment of remuneration... In 2016, we spent only UAH 1,9 billion on remuneration to ATO participants, and in 8 months of this year, we have already spent UAH 2,2 billion,” Galimsky said.
