Poltorak boasted that 23 thousand women serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
As of May 2017, there are more than 23 thousand female military personnel in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was announced by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Artur Artemenko.
“As of May 26, more than 23 thousand female military personnel serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including 3,2 thousand female officers,” he said.
In addition, according to the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, the western regions have a lower rate of conscripts for service among other regions of Ukraine.
