In the Kyiv region, demonstration flights of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took place on MiG-29 multirole fighters.

The flights were organized by the Ministry of Defense specifically for representatives of the Ukrainian media.
As the military noted, the MiG-29 aircraft, together with the L-39 aircraft, are the basis of the fighter aviation of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“Before the demonstration of real flights, media representatives were shown the capabilities of the KTU-12M flight simulator. As the instructors said, such devices are necessary to better prepare the pilot for work tasks and difficult situations that may occur during the flight,” the Kyiv agency UNN said in a report.
The journalists also managed to get to the runway, where pilots of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade demonstrated extraordinary skills in piloting a MiG-29 fighter. The pilots carried out combat duty, which is a mandatory part of combat training standards.
“If earlier the flight time was approximately 8-10 hours, now it is 60-80 hours a year,” the publication quotes the first deputy commander of the Center air command, Oleg Ges.
The publication notes that the main flight personnel are young military personnel aged 22-30 years.
