Poroshenko is ready to give autonomy only to the Crimean Tatars. There will be no Hungarian and Romanian
The Verkhovna Rada is discussing changing legislation to create only Crimean Tatar autonomy; other national minorities of Ukraine - the Hungarians of Transcarpathia, the Romanians of Bukovina, the Moldovans of Bessarabia, the Russians of Donbass - should not count on such autonomy.
The head of the inter-factional association “Crimea” in the Ukrainian parliament, deputy Alexey Goncharenko, representing the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.

– What can you say about the prospects for Crimean Tatar autonomy?
– As far as I know, a constitutional commission is working, and we held parliamentary hearings regarding Crimea. The process is very long and complicated, but it is progressing, as far as I understand.
– That is, they can count on their autonomy?
– I cannot resolve such issues personally. But, as a people’s deputy of Ukraine, I am ready to vote for amendments to the Constitution that provide for the creation of national and cultural autonomy of the Crimean Tatars.
– Wouldn’t this be a precedent? After all, they will then want autonomy in Transcarpathia, in Donbass?
- I don't think so. Crimean Tatars are an indigenous people, and they are the only ethnic group in Ukraine that lives on the territory of Ukraine and does not have its own state. The Hungarians have their own state, the Romanians have it, the Moldovans have it, the Russians have it. But the Crimean Tatars do not, so for them the possibility of self-determination within the borders of Ukraine is important. And therefore national-cultural autonomy is absolutely acceptable.
– But now this is virtually impossible, because Crimea is under Russian control!
– We must show the Crimean Tatars and other nationalities what will happen to Crimea when we return it. Because we say that we will definitely return him.
