This was announced by the press secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Andrei Lysenko. According to him, “four trucks are in the transit zone of the Donetsk checkpoint.”

“Checking the cargo by Ukrainian border guards and customs officers may begin no earlier than Thursday, since they have not yet received the appropriate documentation,” Lysenko claims.

Deputy head of the presidential administration Valery Chaly gave a similar answer about the humanitarian convoy. According to him, “from tomorrow the movement of cargo to the territory of Ukraine will begin.”

“The problem is different: there are a lot of empty cars, 700 tons of water and 30 tons of salt. I don’t think humanitarian aid with salt is the best option,” he said.

At the same time, information is being spread on social networks that Ukrainian border guards and customs officers do not go to the checkpoint to check and register the cargo. Social network users also report that humanitarian aid from Russia has already arrived in Lugansk. According to them, in the city residents with diabetes are given insulin.

This information was promptly denied by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. “In connection with the emergence of information about the alleged crossing of cars with Russian humanitarian cargo along the Russian-Ukrainian border, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that as of the evening of August 20, Ukrainian border and customs services did not carry out the appropriate procedures for its registration,” the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement .

“The Ukrainian side will immediately begin the relevant work as soon as it receives final confirmation from the International Committee of the Red Cross about its readiness to deliver the cargo to its destination,” the Foreign Ministry assured.

As Navigator reported, on August 12, 280 trucks with humanitarian aid left the Moscow region. Since August 14, the convoy has been stationed near the border. Problematic issues were the availability of documents, their provision to the Ukrainian side and the Red Cross, coordination of the route, security guarantees for Red Cross employees, etc.
