I had the opportunity to communicate with people who worked with Petro Poroshenko, when he did not even dare to think about the post of President of Ukraine. Everyone described him as hysterical.
This is not surprising - the youngest son with a strong older brother and an imperious father. You won’t be able to achieve your goal by force - only by blackmail, extortion, which often manifests itself in hysterics among unbalanced people.
And now... The Donetsk and Lugansk republics of New Russia, having held full parliamentary elections and elected the heads of the republics, put an end to Kyiv’s manipulations with non-recognition of the will of the people of Donbass. To say that everyone there is entirely “terrorists” and “bandits” is already becoming ridiculous, since there cannot be millions of “terrorists”, and “bandits” do not hold democratic votes, moreover, twice already.
The November 2 vote is a really strong move, and this can be seen from the hysteria that Poroshenko threw at the National Security and Defense Council, echoing the foreign media and Western politicians. Willy-nilly, he will have to sit down at the negotiating table with Plotnitsky and Zakharchenko, and, therefore, recognize their status. It’s a matter of time before he finally gets around to doing it.
Poroshenko said he would send troops to Mariupol, Berdyansk and Kharkiv to protect them. But aren't they already there? Is voting on November 2 really so dangerous military that we urgently need to tighten up our already shabby rear?!
Don’t be surprised - everyone in Donbass has been waiting for an attack by ATO forces for a week. The situation is such that, according to friends from the security forces, senseless orders are pouring in from the center, since there, after Poroshenko’s hysteria, everyone is sure that there will be an attack... Novorossiya. The headquarters and command are waiting for the attack of the militia. The Security Council meeting started up the state machine, and it began churning out decrees, orders, instructions...
The trouble is that Poroshenko, the nominal head of state, does not completely lead even the remaining piece. And therefore his statements and decrees often become just a shock of the air, as was the case with the truce. That’s why he so calmly passes laws on the status of Donbass and then threatens to repeal them. It is especially easy to cancel something that was not intended to be done.
His actions are increasingly alienating the practically floated Donbass. Statements about a possible tightening of economic measures such as cutting off gas and electricity are only evidence of military impotence. The gas shutdown itself will lead to an even greater distance from Ukraine, since the DPR and LPR will have to look for other infrastructure solutions that are not connected, and therefore independent, from Ukraine.
Poroshenko’s hysteria is a clear sign of weakness. Donbass needs to think not so much about Poroshenko, but about how to survive and then save Russia and Ukraine.
Donbass will have to take on the unbearable burden of updating not only Ukraine, which needs to be gradually annexed to itself, but also Russia itself. In Donbass there is a new dawn of Russia's revival. It is still smoldering like an ember or spark, but to extinguish it means throwing both countries into darkness.
