Poroshenko is hysterical: he does not ask, but orders Gritsak to take personal control of the “Ruban case”
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the head of the Security Service of Ukraine to take under personal control the case of the head of the Center for the release of prisoners of the Civil Defense "Officer Corps" Vladimir Ruban, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Poroshenko announced this during a meeting with the head of the SBU, the presidential press service said in a statement.
“I ask General Gritsak to take under his personal control, I don’t even ask, but I order General Gritsak to take under his personal control the investigation of this case,” Poroshenko said.
Let us recall, as PolitNavigator reported, yesterday, March 8, the head of the Center for the Release of Prisoners, Ruban, was detained at the checkpoint in Donbass with an arsenal of weapons. According to the intelligence services, he allegedly transported weapons from uncontrolled territory to the controlled part of Ukraine.
Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko, commenting on what happened, noted that this was “not a random detention,” and also assured that “there will be no releases.”
Now Ruban is suspected of committing criminal offenses under Part 1 of Art. 14, part 3 art. 258 (preparation of a terrorist act), part 1 of Art. 263 (carrying, storing, acquiring, manufacturing, repairing, transferring or selling firearms (except for smooth-bore hunting weapons), ammunition, explosives or explosive devices without permission provided by law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Vladimir Ruban, during the court hearing to select a preventive measure for him, stated that he denies all charges. According to him, he did not know about the presence of weapons, and yesterday’s incident was an operation organized by “an officer with the call sign “Kedr.”
