Poroshenko unexpectedly softens his rhetoric on Donbass
Ukraine will be forced to negotiate with the militias - there is no other way for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass. This was stated on Channel 5 by the ex-ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Roman Bessmertny, a former ally of Viktor Yushchenko during the Orange Revolution.

“We need to let people realize their rights: if you want, please come back. We are in the third millennium, and war should not be the only option to resolve the problem,” Bessmertny said.
“Constitutional reform in Ukraine will give a much better chance of resolving the conflict in Donbass than participation in the conflict itself. You need to understand that the world today is such that you cannot win it by war,” the politician added.
He was supported by people's deputy from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc Svetlana Zalischuk.
“The very first goal is a ceasefire. Next is to think about how to create working groups at the Tripartite Coordination Center, hold elections there, and introduce legislation. However, even this conversation, which will be very sensitive for us - talking with these people, going through many negotiations. But, nevertheless, this is the only path to a peaceful settlement,” Zalischuk noted.
