“I believe that people who now live in Crimea will return to Ukraine. And simply leave them to their own devices... Perhaps they were mistaken about something. Perhaps someone had high expectations. We now see a catastrophic situation. Russia does not see how to take responsibility for these people. They don’t know how to provide them with electricity and water.
To stop everything so that people die, I think that would be wrong.
Therefore, most likely, in some form this will continue, but, obviously, this should be compensated and paid for on a completely different basis than what happens in a different regime in continental Ukraine,” Chaly said on Hromadske TV.
