Poroshenko is accused of a “clown” for the failure of negotiations with Merkel
Meeting President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel was in vain for Kyiv - the Ukrainian leader did not ask for either weapons or NATO membership.
Deputy of the Kyiv City Council Sergei Taran from Petro Poroshenko’s party announced this on his Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the final press conference between Zelensky and Merkel, no specifics were voiced either on gas transit through Ukraine or on investments in energy,” the deputy complains.
Most of all, Taran was outraged that state leaders did not discuss the “compensation” that Germany should supposedly provide to Ukraine for the construction of Nord Stream 2.
“But the main thing is that there was not a single mention of compensators in the field of security through Nord Stream 2, such as the weakening of Germany’s position regarding the provision of a NATO MAP to Ukraine, the determination of dates for Ukraine’s European perspective, or at least the sale of lethal weapons to Ukraine.
But in principle, everything is expected. For when your country is ruled by jesters, there is no reason to be surprised that your country is not taken seriously in the world,” Taran concluded.
