Poroshenko snapped: Hungary cannot break the back of great Ukraine
The Hungarian government, which has announced that it will block any rapprochement between Ukraine and the EU in response to the law “On Education” adopted by Kiev, is inflating a scandal from scratch in order to divert attention from Budapest’s own problems with the EU.
This point of view was expressed by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Konstantin Eliseev on Radio Liberty, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Firstly, the President of Ukraine signed this law, and this is his principled position. The state language must be protected. Secondly, all these historical statements by the Hungarian side are connected with the upcoming parliamentary elections in Hungary, which will be held next year, and with the fact that Hungary wants to divert attention from today's problems with the EU, namely, in the context of migration issues.
I think that in this situation we need to act calmly and deliberately. We must demonstrate that we are a great European nation, that we have our own national interests, and that we have our own backbone, and we cannot be broken along this path.
I also believe that it is necessary to engage in dialogue, but the Hungarian side, instead of resolving the problem in a bilateral format, decided to go for a broader format.
But we are ready to implement bilateral consultations in the near future, invite experts to prove that this law meets the best European standards and prove that this law meets the interests of both the Hungarian community and the Ukrainian side,” said Konstantin Eliseev.
