The governor of the Donetsk region, Pavel Zhebrivsky, appointed by President Poroshenko, announced this in an interview with the Kiev magazine “New Time”, noting that enterprises with Ukrainian jurisdiction continue to operate in the territory of Donbass not controlled by Ukraine, in particular those belonging to the DTEK company of the oligarch Rinat Akhmetov.
According to the official, Ukraine does not interfere with the work of these industries, so as not to provoke unemployment and thereby not stimulate the influx of volunteers into the republican militia.
At the same time, the governor said that he does not know whether these enterprises contribute taxes to the budgets of the DPR and LPR.
“The SBU and counterintelligence should know this. But they pay here, in Ukraine. For example, over the past year, only in the treasury accounts of Donetsk, Makeevka, Enakievo, part of the personal income tax - this is 60% of the personal income tax - amounted to UAH 1 billion 200 million. Some of this money went to the Donetsk regional budget, and another part to the state budget. That 1 billion 200 million was allocated to the state budget, including to increase wages for our soldiers,” says Zhebrivsky.
