The head of the Donetsk military-civil administration, Pavel Zhebrivsky, appointed by President Poroshenko, stated this in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “Focus”, answering the question of how elections should be held in the territories of Donbass not controlled by Kiev.
“After de-occupation, military-civil administrations should work in those territories for at least a year. In parallel with this, we will need to prepare for the elections. It is necessary to provide Ukrainian political parties with the opportunity to conduct propaganda and structural work. For example, I don’t understand how some Western partners can propose holding elections in these territories without the withdrawal of Russian troops? How, for example, will the Right Sector party participate in them if it does not have any representation there? Yes, even the parliamentary BPP, “People's Front”, “Samopomich” and the rest are not represented there in any way.. To hold elections like this is simply to legalize all the rabble that considers itself the authorities there today,” Zhebrivsky said.
