Poroshenko has an immortal competitor
Ukrainian politician Roman Bessmertny said at a meeting with journalists in Kyiv that he would run for president, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force service.
“I consider running for president as my future. The time will come, I will draw up the relevant documents and run for office,” he said.
Roman Bessmertny was for some time a representative of Ukraine in the political subgroup of the trilateral contact group for resolving the conflict in Donbass, where he established himself as a supporter of the “hard line” towards the Russian Federation. He worked as Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration during the time of Viktor Yushchenko, and as Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus.
He was also called the “field commander” of the Orange Revolution in 2004 for his active participation in its organization. He was the first deputy chairman of Viktor Yushchenko's headquarters.
