Poroshenko blabbed about Bartholomew's true goals
Kyiv should not be naive, but must understand that the Patriarchate of Constantinople is primarily solving its own problems in Ukraine.
An unnamed interlocutor in the “Petro Poroshenko Bloc” stated this to the Kommersant publication, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine should not be naive. Constantinople is solving its own issues; our interests now coincide. The Patriarchate of Constantinople needs to prove that it is it that is authorized to grant autocephaly; it is clearly going to prove this using the example of Ukraine, which suits us,” said a representative of Poroshenko’s party.
As PolitNavigator reported, the Patriarchate of Constantinople began preparations for the granting of church autocephaly the schismatic “Kyiv Patriarchate”, for which two exarchs from the USA and Canada were sent to Ukraine: Archbishop Daniel of Pamphylia and Bishop Hilarion of Edmonton.
