Poroshenko was told that the Russian Federation will demand the Ukrainian Navy for the detained sailors
In circles close to the Ukrainian authorities, they assure that they will fight for the release of the Navy sailors, detained by Russian border guards after an attempt to break into the Sea of Azov.
Kommersant writes about this, citing a source in the parliamentary faction of the ruling party “Petr Poroshenko Bloc”.
The publication’s interlocutor assured that “Ukraine will certainly fight for the release of the sailors,” but at the same time said that the prospects for this matter are not easy.
“We understand that Russia, in exchange, will demand not only the release and extradition of the former head of the RIA Novosti - Ukraine agency, Kirill Vyshinsky, who was arrested in Kherson, but also its other citizens. According to statements made by the Russian side, there may be up to 40 people on this list,” said Poroshenko’s ally.
