Poroshenko told why they did not restore the part of Donbass controlled by Kyiv
Kyiv did not restore the war-ravaged Donbass because creating a strong army was task number one.
Verkhovna Rada deputy from the BPP faction Oleg Barna said this on the air of the 112 Ukraine channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As they say, hope always dies last. I want to say that, first of all, this is due to the period of time that is gradually coming. From the very beginning, we could not pay special attention to the front-line territories, because our main task was to restore the army and its combat effectiveness. We had to give our military not only salaries, which we increased 5-6 times, but also weapons. When we completed all this, we didn’t even have factories that produced bullets and ammunition, since those that were in Ukraine were located in Donetsk and Lugansk, and were destroyed,” the deputy claims.
“It is obvious that in the second stage we must take care of those people, because those who now live in the front-line zone are in a more difficult situation than those who live further from it, in particular in Western Ukraine,” he said Barna.
