Poroshenko’s forecast about the collapse of Russia has changed: Now you have to wait 40 years
Ukraine will not be able to regain Crimea for at least the next 40 years. Taras Berezovets, a propagandist working for the administration of Petro Poroshenko (previously served the Party of Regions), stated this today in Vilnius at the liberal “Free Russia Forum”.

“The idea that the Crimea issue can be resolved within 3-5 years no longer arises among sensible people. I am close to the idea of my great friend, former US Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst, who calls the period about 40 years. He draws a parallel with the Baltic states,” Berezovets said.
He believes that change can begin after changes in the Russian political system, which will not happen soon.
“In the case of Crimea, we must operate in fairly long categories. The point is not even about Putin, but about how much the Russian political system will change after him. There is no need to create illusions that this will happen tomorrow or in 5 years. It seems to me that this is serious and long-term. Our task is one thing – to be patient and work,” Berezovets said.
