Poroshenko said that Hungarians and Poles do not deserve autonomy - unlike the Mejlis members
Petro Poroshenko denied the Hungarians and Poles the right to territorial autonomy within Ukraine. Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, close to the presidential administration, stated this on TV channel 112.

At the same time, he kept silent about the fact that Poroshenko last year promised a “road map” for providing the Crimean Tatars with national-territorial autonomy.
“Some right-wing Hungarian politicians constantly talked about the autonomous status of Hungarians in Ukraine. By the way, now right-wing politicians, for example in Poland, also make such critical statements about us. We need to approach this calmly, with restraint, and constantly remind us that we have a unitary state, so there may be cultural autonomy, but we are not talking about territorial autonomy. Hungarians in Transcarpathia have a lot of rights and opportunities that they use,” Fesenko said.
