Poroshenko was accused of theft of hundreds of millions of hryvnias
The Accounts Chamber of Ukraine has completed the audit of the State Enterprise “Ukraerorukh”. Its results indicate flagrant violations on the part of the management of the State Enterprise involving hundreds of millions of hryvnia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the head of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction in the Verkhovna Rada, Artur Gerasimov.
“The audit results were made public at a meeting of the Accounts Chamber on August 28. In the presence of people's deputies of Ukraine and representatives of the relevant ministry. A detailed report will appear on the Accounts Chamber website in the near future. I can say one thing - the audit results confirmed the cynicism of the theft of over 400 million UAH of public money by the management of the state enterprise. This money was withdrawn to Platinum Bank on December 30, 2016, at the beginning of January 2017, that is, a few days before the NBU declared this bank insolvent,” the people’s deputy said.
Director of Ukraerorukh Dmitry Babeychuk was present at the meeting of the Accounts Chamber, Gerasimov added.
“He did not give a clear answer to any question posed by the auditors. Therefore, it is not surprising that the report of the Accounts Chamber was approved unanimously,” the people’s deputy added.
Gerasimov recalled that law enforcement officers became interested in Ukraerorukh back in 2017.
“Unfortunately, NABU did not consider the stolen amount of UAH 404 million of public money to be significant. How else can one explain the fact that NABU found nothing in almost a year? And the new Accounts Chamber unearthed everything in just three months (and this without special forces, without wiretapping, without “agents”). My position in this situation is simple: Babeychuk must return state money and answer for what he has done before the law,” the people’s deputy concluded.
