Presidential Representative Natalya Popovich stated this in a commentary to Ukrainian media.

“On July 13, 2017 at 8:50 am (before the start of working hours), a group of aggressive protesters seized the premises of the Representative Office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (hereinafter referred to as the Representative Office) at the address: Kherson, Ushakov Avenue 42. The seizure took place through the front door entrance of the representative office, by entering the foyer, using physical force against employees of the representative office who were trying to enter their workplaces through the front entrance.

At the same time, the entrance doors of the Representative Office were broken during penetration, the electromagnetic lock was damaged, which makes it impossible to automatically close them and open them automatically,” Popovich said.

According to her, “the attackers were stopped from seizing the entire premises by closed additional doors that lead from the foyer to the stairs to the third floor where, in fact, the Representative Office is located.”

Popovich also added that a statement was sent to the prosecutor’s office of the Kherson region about the commission of a criminal offense under Article 341 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely “Seizure of buildings or structures supporting the activities of government bodies, local governments, citizens’ associations, for the purpose of illegal use or obstructing the normal operation of enterprises, institutions, organizations.”

Four days later, supporters of the Majlis on social networks began to deny that the office had been seized.

“The presidential representative in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Natalya Popovich, simply lies to the media about the “seizure by armed people” of a building in Kherson, and she gets away with it. Also, every day its employees make false calls to emergency services. Dozens of people are distracted from work, meanwhile the PP is simply locked away from citizens. There are no “aggressive people in camouflage” there, there are peaceful law-abiding people. The police have officially confirmed that all messages from Popovich and her employees are lies. There was nothing, no storming of the building, no mining, no riots at all,” Aider Muzhdabaev, deputy director of the Majlis TV channel ATR, wrote on his Facebook page today.

And former Crimean Liza Bogutskaya, in her blog, asked her readers to tell President Poroshenko that his “representative in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea” has gone crazy.

“She should either be in prison or in the hospital. In a psychiatric hospital,” wrote Bogutskaya, who also claims that there was no seizure of the office.
