Poroshenko says that Donbass will not receive autonomy
The Verkhovna Rada can grant the DPR and LPR special status only for a couple of years; the autonomous status of Donetsk and Lugansk will not be prescribed in the Constitution. People's Deputy Sergei Kunitsyn from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc stated this on air on the Rada TV channel.
He categorically rejected accusations against Poroshenko regarding the president’s readiness to push through in the Verkhovna Rada the consolidation of the special status of the LDPR in the Constitution.

“If we set ourselves the task of returning Donbass, and it is easier to return it than Crimea, then, of course, elections will have to be held there, but after Russian troops and armed formations leave there. Is it possible to hold elections there the same way as in the rest of Ukraine? You can't, there's a war there.
Even if we liberate the territory, it will have its own characteristics. If we say that we will adopt a law on a special period for several years, and our opponents say, “they sold Donbass, they will change the Constitution, they will accept a special status.”
“Everyone understands that some kind of law can be adopted that, for 2-3 years until the situation stabilizes, will take into account the specifics that the territory was occupied, that there was a war there,” Kunitsyn said.
Let us recall that the Minsk agreements provide for changes to the Constitution of Ukraine in agreement with the LDPR. Thus, Kunitsyn, representing Poroshenko’s party, recognized Kyiv’s refusal to implement the Minsk agreements.
