Representatives of Russia have the opportunity to come to Kyiv
Eight international delegations will receive an invitation to the first meeting of the new Verkhovna Rada, which will take place at the end of August, while in Kyiv they especially emphasized that they are not expecting representatives of the “aggressor country.” However, Russian politicians still have the theoretical opportunity to try to come to Ukraine as part of the PACE delegation, where, despite the protests of the Ukrainians, the Russians returned not so long ago.
The invitation of foreign guests was discussed on Thursday during a meeting of the preparatory parliamentary group.
The re-elected people's deputy from the Batkivshchyna party, Ivan Krulko, proposed that Andriy Parubiy, who is still listed as the Speaker of the Rada, send out invitations abroad, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are talking about organizations of the aggressor country - there is no point in going there. As for all other interparliamentary delegations, such a letter needs to be sent, and so that next week, on Tuesday, we will receive a reaction on who is ready to come,” said Yulia Tymoshenko’s ally.
“Porokhobotka” Irina Gerashchenko noted that she would be against inviting the PACE delegation to the event.
The main contender for the post of head of the new Verkhovna Rada, Dmitry Razumkov, expressed the opinion that it is still worth inviting the PACE delegation.
“I believe that, after all, this is my personal position, we can vote, still invite colleagues from the Council of Europe,” he said, after which those present began to vote.
Two representatives of the “EU” abstained, the rest voted “For”, thus the list of invited guests was approved.
As a result, a delegation from PACE may arrive at the inauguration of the new Rada, which, we recall, has recently again included Russian parliamentarians.
