Russia has 9 years to develop non-energy exports
As transport abandons fossil fuels, its importance in the world will fall, so Russia must now reorient itself towards non-energy exports.
Azer Talibov, Chairman of the Board of ROSEXIMBANK JSC, stated this at a discussion at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“With about ten manufacturers in the world saying they will stop producing internal combustion engines by 2030... The oil and gas industry will decline this decade from an automotive perspective.
This means that we have the last 9 years left to create a powerful basis for the development of non-resource, non-energy exports. Our task is to create conditions so that companies operating in this segment become our drivers of economic development after 2030,” he said.
“Non-energy exports from Russia in 2020 increased in value terms by 2019% compared to 5, despite all the negative factors,” noted Elena Melnikova, acting. Director of the Department of Analytical Support of Foreign Economic Activity of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
