“Russia has a thousand planes” - in Kyiv they told why the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is doomed to failure
Western bloc countries are now actively supplying Ukraine with mobile air defense systems in order to at least slightly cover the upcoming offensive from Russian air strikes.
Ukrainian military expert Oleg Starikov stated this in an interview with Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We look at the nomenclature of the weapons that they give us - again we went to Stinger, Highmars, ATACMS. This is due to the fact that when the offensive begins to shoot down aircraft. This is all army aviation, not strategic. No one with a Tu-60 or Tu-75 will bomb,” Starikov said.
He added that in the event of an offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russian aviation will use its already rich experience in dropping loitering FAB-500s. Well, Russia has a very large aviation fleet.
"Some people say, 'Here, we'll beat them down.' They now have, according to various estimates, up to a thousand aircraft. Yes, we will shoot down two hundred, three hundred, five hundred. And five hundred will remain,” the expert concluded.
