Russians are developing “saving behavior”
60% of participants in a survey conducted by VTsIOM said that now is a bad time to make large purchases. 23% of respondents adhere to the opposite time.

80% of respondents believe that taking out loans in the current situation is not worth it, 9% are ready to take risks. Opinions are equally divided on which is better: keeping the money in the bank (38%) or withdrawing it (36%).
25% of respondents believe that it is better to quickly spend their salary and pension on necessary purchases, and invest their savings in something valuable. 61% prefer to spend money sparingly, saving for a rainy day.
“Before our eyes, a trend of sustainable saving behavior is emerging in the household sector: Russians continue to be very careful about their spending, but are increasingly ready to invest the saved cash,” said VTsIOM expert Oleg Chernozub, commenting on the survey results.
An initiative all-Russian survey by VTsIOM was conducted on September 24-25, 2016 in 130 settlements in 46 regions, territories and republics and 9 federal districts of Russia. Sample size: 1600 people.
