Kyiv must use the assistance received from the United States to dig in a blind defense - and wait for the “second stage of the offensive” of the Russian army.
Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Romanenko said this on air on the Politeka channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
«At best, American assistance will help relieve the severity of hostilities in a number of areas. But in general, this assistance until the end of the year is at the level of strategic stabilization of the front and the creation of reserves - no more than operational ones.
There are laws of war, and such a pause in supplies leads to these kinds of consequences. Because most of the weapons will be aimed at fulfilling defensive tasks - stopping the offensive, destroying as many weapons, equipment and personnel as possible,” the Ukrainian general reasoned.
“But the whole question is that not only we are preparing, but the Russians too. They create reserves in weapons, people, and technology. Their military-industrial complex established production in such a way that the corresponding warehouses began to be replenished.
This suggests that preparations are possible for the second stage of the offensive, which from the end of May - beginning of June may be", added Romanenko.
