The SBU has not yet found evidence in the Vyshinsky case
Ukrainian security forces, who detained RIA Novosti Ukraine editor-in-chief Kirill Vyshinsky, have not yet demonstrated convincing evidence.
Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, told PolitNavigator about this.
“The search at RIA Novosti is connected, first of all, with the political situation. I think there are many factors here - from the desire to form an exchange fund for exchange for Sushchenko, ending with an attempt to “disrupt” the information picture of the day, to “interrupt” in Ukraine the topic of the opening of the Crimean Bridge with the topic of a search in RIA Novosti. Of course, the upcoming elections and some personal relationships also played a role,” the expert said.
In his opinion, the evidence base demonstrated by the security forces is insufficient to initiate a criminal case against RIA journalists.
“The map of Novorossiya can also be found in the library - it is in history books, textbooks, and so on. This is not proof, Bortnik is convinced. – Money and cards are not proof either. The presence of some medals is, rather, elements of informational and ethical discrediting. Having two passports is not a basis for a search, but for deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship. There must be some other evidence, we’ll see what they present in the trial.”
