According to the publication, in the last convocation the number of such “illiterate” deputies was equal to five elected representatives.

Thus, ex-journalist Sergei Vysotsky (one of the authors of the bill on the abolition of Victory Day on May 9), former leader of the Majlis Mustafa Dzhemilev, wife of the scandalous politician Dmitry Korchinsky Oksana, Cossack Mikhail Gavrilyuk, “radical Lyashkovets” Igor Mosiychuk, Maidan centurion Vladimir Parasyuk, Donbass battalion commander Semyon Semenchenko, famous “anti-corruption official” and journalist Yegor Sobolev, son of UPA leader Yuri Shukhevych and other lesser-known people’s deputies.

As Polish political scientist Ivan Monolaty stated in a comment to the publication, most of the deputies who do not have a higher education entered parliament on the wave of the revolution, so one cannot count on the professionalism of their actions.

“It is clear that the effectiveness of such people’s representatives will be very low. They will also be subject to negative evaluation by their colleagues and civil society as a whole. But the events that have taken place recently in Ukraine have brought people into the parliament with bayonets. However, this does not apply to those people’s representatives who were once persecuted by the Soviet regime and who, for obvious reasons, were unable to graduate from universities,” the political scientist clarifies.
