Soros accused Russia of playing off Ukrainian liberals and nationalists
Russia is pouring large amounts of money into Ukraine to weaken Ukrainian society.
This was stated in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe” by Alexander Sushko, executive director of the international fund “Vidrodzhennia”, which is financed by the American billionaire George Soros.
“Russia understands how to quarrel Ukrainians - it is necessary to set liberals and nationalists against each other, those who advocate more for human rights, against those who more support the security of the state, that is, create artificial oppositions within society and thereby weaken it. The same can be done with political forces, thereby giving the “green light” to revanchists,” says the head of the fund.
According to him, in the coming months everyone will “witness a major propaganda campaign using money brought in from abroad,” during which they will “try to refocus public attention on mythical “external enemies.”
The publication’s interlocutor suggests that “most signs indicate that we are talking about big Russian money” for the “anti-Soros” and “external control” campaign.
“I don’t have receipts, but the working hypothesis is this: now Russia is most interested in quarreling Ukrainians on the topic of external governance. The technologies are also very similar to Russian ones, and the PR centers that implement them were known precisely for working out Russian scenarios. There is every reason to talk about the deployment of a Russian-sponsored plan, but not only Russian entities are involved in it - it is being sold to Ukrainian political players,” says Sushko.
