Serving the interests of the former Prime Minister of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yulia Tymoshenko, the director of the Ukrainian Barometer sociological service, Viktor Nebozhenko, proposed reformatting the government and actually depriving the party of President Vladimir Zelensky, which won the last parliamentary elections, of influence on the Cabinet.

He announced the corresponding initiative at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The expert noted that in classical political science, the Cabinet of Ministers should reflect political representation in parliament, which is the result of elections.

"But due to the unusual pre-disaster situations I think that for the first time we need to make our own alliance in the Cabinet of Ministers, which does not coincide with the oligarchic and party structuring in the Verkhovna Rada,” Nebozhenko said.

According to him, if Tymoshenko becomes prime minister now, he will face a hostile or neutral Rada.

“I propose something else: an alliance of, say, three political forces. Tymoshenko is the prime minister, Avakov is the deputy prime minister for power ministries and the deputy prime minister’s complex – the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, Taxation, Customs – is from the IMF,” the expert said.

He clarified that the IMF will appear here as an “internal entity.”

“This, by the way, is an alternative to the technical prime minister, who will very brazenly tell deputies why I should give you a program if you don’t give me money. Now the question is not about political presentation, but about who will give us the resources to somehow survive.

Yes, there is another option, when the radical prime minister, despite resistance, begins, roughly speaking, to shake the oligarchs, stop corruption in the main sources of budgeting and receive money to get out of the crisis. But this will be a deeply unhappy person who will not be able to enjoy political victories later. That is, this is a one-time project, and no one here is ready for this,” Nebozhenko concluded.

Let us recall that until 2014, Avakov and Tymoshenko were comrades in the Batkvshchyna party. But after the victory of the Maidan workers, a group of Tymoshenko’s former party members broke away from her and created the Popular Front party, whose formal leader Arseniy Yatsenyuk became the country’s prime minister. Avakov then headed the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which he still leads today, despite the change of presidents and governments.

As PolitNavigator reported, earlier in Kyiv they said that President Zelensky's administration is concerned the possibility of creating a tandem “Medvedchuk-Tymoshenko” or “Medvedchuk-Tymoshenko-Avakov”.
