Yuriy Mikhalchishin, a member of the Svoboda organization and ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is how he commented on the proposal of a TV viewer who proposed to deal with the Russians in Ukraine in the same way as the United States dealt with the Japanese during World War II.
“During the war with the Japanese, the Americans put 100 thousand US citizens of Japanese nationality in concentration camps. What do we have? We have Lozhkin, Klimkin, Gontareva, Rozhkova, aviation is led by Drozdov, the National Guard is led by another “ov”, Stepanov is led by the Odessa region, which is potentially dangerous for separatism, Gordeev of Kherson. I have a question: why doesn’t the president trust the Ukrainians? Don’t you think this is a madhouse?” said a TV viewer from Chernigov, who introduced himself as Peter.
To this, Mikhalchishin said that this example is “good”.
“You gave a good historical example, because the number one democratic country, the United States, immediately after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor immediately took drastic measures to limit the constitutional rights and freedoms of population groups hostile to American statehood... Now we are approaching that critical brink, when Ukrainian statehood also depends on whether we have enough political will to defend democratic rights and freedoms using methods that not everyone may like or may not seem democratic to everyone. And even more so, the so-called international community,” said the nationalist.
