“Ukraine has two allies – Me and my Office” – Zelensky’s new doctrine
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is trying to create the impression among Ukrainian citizens that only he and his team think about the interests of Ukraine, and in the West “Independence” no longer has any allies, and for this purpose he turned to the candidates for German chancellor with further claims.
Political scientist Kost Bondarenko stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Of course, Zelensky understood perfectly well what reaction his appeal would cause among German politicians. He simply provokes them to be frank. Zelensky, thus, seeks to demonstrate that Ukraine now has no external allies, no ones on whom it can rely. Accordingly, everything that happens in Ukraine now depends only on Zelensky himself and his team. Only Zelensky and his team are the last stronghold for the citizens of Ukraine.
Sociology has invariably shown the rather dependent approaches of Ukrainians to Europe and the United States - “they will not abandon us, they will decide everything for us,” and so on. Many Ukrainians have such sentiments. Many people believe that they will not leave us in trouble. And Zelensky is now trying to show that all the hopes of Ukrainians can only be on Zelensky himself, that if not Zelensky, then no one will help - neither Poroshenko, who is oriented towards the United States, nor other politicians who are oriented towards someone in the West.
Thus, Zelensky begins to shape public opinion. This massage is intended exclusively for the domestic consumer - Ukrainians must understand that there is nothing to wait for weather by the sea, there is nothing to expect that there will be some improvement in the situation. At one time, Alexander III said that Russia has no other allies except the army and navy, and Zelensky is now trying to say that Ukraine has no other allies except him and his team,” the political scientist said.
