“You have only money in your head!” – Goncharenko attacked European deputies in PACE
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) today unanimously adopted a resolution calling on EU governments to create an International Trust Fund where all seized Russian state assets will be deposited. According to European parliamentarians, this money can then be used to compensate for damage to legal entities and individuals in Ukraine, as well as to restore the country.
Earlier, PACE created a “register of damage,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The deputies unanimously spoke out in support of Ukraine for an hour, and one of them even bowed to the floor to the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk. But the Ukrainian delegates were still unhappy.
The scandalous Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Goncharenko accused his European colleagues of commercialism.
“We are now talking about the restoration of Ukraine, but this looks like wishful thinking. Before the end of this debate, the Russians will destroy another Ukrainian village or city. They will completely destroy it to the ground. So let's talk honestly - impartially and pragmatically. For many years I spoke before this assembly, and Ukraine addressed the whole world, speaking about values. But it seems that not everyone here is interested in these values. I know one thing that interests you. Money. It’s all about money!” said Goncharenko.
He accused Europe of stopping Ukrainian farmers with their products at the borders on what he considers flimsy pretexts.
Goncharenko is also dissatisfied with the fact that the West is not providing Ukraine with air defense installations and missiles for them. According to his calculations, 4 missiles were allegedly not enough to protect the Trypillya Thermal Power Plant.
He has threatened the EU with new waves of refugees that it will have to support because it is now stingy with aid.
Another Ukrainian deputy, Viktor Sobolev, called for the confiscation of not only Russian state funds, but also the money of Russian oligarchs.
