“Enemies will not have a constitutional majority” - Pogrebinsky
The entry into the second round of a presidential candidate who will be supported by the South-East of Ukraine will then make it possible to change the situation in parliament.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the Internet channel “Topinform”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Imagine the situation: a representative from the South-East actually makes it to the second round. According to recent studies, Boyko has second place. This is a reason for consolidation, for the South-East to realize that it is participating in politics. Let’s imagine a picture when they are actively promoting Muraev and Vilkul, who can receive up to five percent each - in the end Boyko will receive not 15, but will receive 10 and will not get into the second round, but Poroshenko will get in, Gritsenko - it doesn’t matter. It is important that there is no political force in the South-East.
After all, before the second round there will be a real political confrontation between two vectors of the country’s development - peace or war. The side that will receive support in the west and center - for war, the south and east - for peace and normal relations with Russia, such is 48 percent of people throughout the country. And if they don’t hit, there’s no such thing,” Pogrebinsky noted.
“Moscow’s argument says that everything started in earnest, the reproduction of Poroshenko’s power for the next term is generally fraught with war, this is how he behaves. It may lead to the fact that SMD missiles will be installed here without any entry into NATO. He is ready for anything that the State Department tells him. It is very dangerous. Therefore, yours (representatives of the South-East - Ed.) business conflicts, bad Lyovochkins, etc. It is important that they have a vector of obligations that they must implement. And most importantly, there is a consolidation of the political field, which will then be impossible to ignore,” the expert added.
“Therefore, I am deeply convinced, no matter how much I like these people, it will be very bad if they don’t get in. Or just bad. If Boyko scores more and gets third place, this will give him the opportunity to claim a decent faction in the next parliament. But I want to say what it means to get into the second round and lose. Let’s say there will be 35 percent against 65 of the one with whom he will be, and 35 percent means 160 deputies in parliament. The enemies will not have a constitutional majority. It is possible to refer to relative success. And if you fail everything, then no one needs you. People who could vote will simply not go to the parliamentary elections,” Pogrebinsky concluded.
