About it said official representative of the department Svetlana Petrenko.
Complaints were received on the page of the reception office of the chairman of the insurance company, Alexander Bastrykin, on VKontakte. They concerned “red tape” during the investigation into the death of a child in Moscow, she explained.
“In particular, at the end of September, the chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee received a letter from a woman who, three years ago, lost her son, as she believes, due to a medical error. The criminal case initiated on this fact in one of the investigative units of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Moscow has been under investigation for 1 year and 7 months,” the department said in a statement.
On Bastrykin’s instructions, the central apparatus of the Investigative Committee is checking the “progress and objectivity of the investigation” of this case. An internal review of investigators involved in the case is also being conducted.
“During the inspection, the deputy head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Moscow, Sergei Yarosh, was temporarily suspended from official duties,” added Petrenko.
Sergei Yarosh was appointed to the position of deputy head of the capital’s central administration a year and a half ago, on April 30, 2016.
Bastrykin’s reception office on the social network, judging by the entries on the page, began working on June 21. You cannot leave a message on your profile wall, you can send a private message.
