Yulia Tymoshenko is doing poorly
Petro Poroshenko’s headquarters created big problems for Yulia Tymoshenko by running her “double” with identical initials – ex-ATO militant, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuri Tymoshenko – in the elections. Given the minimal gap in ratings, Tymoshenko risks losing the few percentage points necessary to reach the second round of the presidential campaign.
The coordinator of the human rights group “Uspishna Varta” Natalya Natalina writes about this in her blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Natalina explains that Tymoshenko’s headquarters failed to challenge in court the abolition of the numbering of candidates on the ballots - thus, the possibility of targeting the voter by the desired number is excluded.
“So, there will be two candidates on the ballot with the same last names, initials, positions and place of work. This technology has already worked in certain opinion polls where he was included - the results caught my eye, where Yura had about 3%. Now imagine a polling station, blind grannies, and just people who are not paying attention. You can bite off 5-7%, or even more,” writes Natalina.
“There are 39 candidates on the ballot, especially if he is put first, they will be completely mixed up... In general, Lady Yu’s prospects are not happy. And plus, people ran away from her as soon as the SBU began to harass en masse and summon for questioning members of precinct commissions from the UVT and observers... For example, in Zaporozhye, 73 leaders of the primary party organizations of “Batkivshchyna” were summoned for questioning, in Zhytomyr - 100, in the Vinnytsia region - 270. You notice the scale, don’t you?”, the social activist argues.
