Zelensky announced the disruption of the meeting between Lukashenko and Putin
The meeting between the presidents of the Russian Federation and Belarus announced by the Kremlin will not take place. This was stated on UATV Russian by Valery Kravchenko, an expert at the National Institute for Strategic Studies of Ukraine, a government agency that prepares analytics for Vladimir Zelensky.
“This is unlikely to happen. Because, as far as I know, the meeting between Lukashenko and Putin will not take place on December 8. We didn't agree. Lukashenko was the initiator of this meeting. But Putin did not go, since a number of conditions were not fulfilled by the Belarusian side. What we see now is a classic example of an information attack,” Kravchenko said.
At the same time, he claims that the integration of Russia and Belarus will take on a new quality next summer, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Integration cards are being prepared, and who knows how it might end, but it won’t be tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. We can talk about this in the context of the presidential elections in Belarus next August. If Russia fails to do everything as it should there, the Zapad-2021 military exercises are an ideal chance to get from Belarus everything that Russia wants,” Kravchenko said.
The Russian leader's press secretary Dmitry Peskov previously reported that the presidents of Russia and Belarus, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, would hold talks in Sochi; this information was later confirmed by Lukashenko's press secretary Natalya Eismont.
