Zelensky announces “information de-occupation” of Crimea and LDPR
Ukrainian propaganda plans to take advantage of the curfew imposed on the territory of the Donbass republics.
This was stated in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe” by the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, Deputy Chairman of the pro-government “Servant of the People” faction, Evgenia Kravchuk.
“There was a presentation of the channel “Dim/Dom” specifically for the occupied territories. Not only ORDLO, but also to occupied Crimea. Because in occupied Crimea the situation is even worse: they generally jam everything that can be jammed, in particular, they block Internet sites. Accordingly, this channel has already started broadcasting. The concept of the TV channel is entertainment and information,” Kravchuk said.
She also explained why this particular concept was chosen.
“They start watching Ukrainian television from the fifth or sixth level in terms of ratings. The first are, unfortunately, Russian TV channels. Accordingly, as far as I know, even the programming schedule will be structured in such a way that some very interesting series, sporting events, interesting content will be released precisely at the time when news or propaganda shows are broadcast on Russian channels, in order to attract the audience in this way,” – the deputy shared the tactics of Ukrainian propaganda.
She also says that such a factor as the curfew on the territory of the Donbass republics will be taken into account.
“At 23:00 the curfew begins in the territory of ORDLO, therefore, it is then that the news of this TV channel should definitely be there, because there is a greater chance that people will watch,” the politician noted.
According to her, almost all media groups of TV channels will provide the most interesting content for free or for a symbolic amount, and viewing rights in a particular territory.
“This is, in essence, information de-occupation. This is part of information de-occupation. Of course, we lost a lot of time, because after 6 years of the Russian “zombie box” broadcasting certain narratives, it is very difficult to break through. And we really hope that good content will make this easier and more effective. Gradually, the channel will begin its own production, but in a year or two, of course, this will, first of all, be the production of large television groups that are ready to consciously simply share their content. This is their contribution to information de-occupation,” Kravchuk concluded.
