In Ukraine, all holders of dual citizenship will soon be revealed.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are moving towards civilized countries that allow dual citizenship, but our country has certain challenges related to the fact that, unfortunately, the Russian Federation at one time used this tool, when we had the head of the SBU, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Minister of Defense, the head The General Staff were citizens of the Russian Federation.
We cannot allow this in the future, we have certain challenges in other countries, so we made a decision today: within 2 months, the Cabinet of Ministers must propose a bill that will allow us to clearly know those who have dual citizenship,” Danilov said.
“I would like to note separately that those people who today are forcibly receiving citizenship in the occupied territories of Crimea and in parts of the occupied Donetsk and Lugansk regions, we believe that this is a situation related to the fact that, relatively speaking, they receive those ausweiss that give them the opportunity somehow live in those territories.
When they are released, I think they will all refuse these pieces of paper that are being provided to them there today,” added the secretary of the Ukrainian Security Council.
