Zelensky threatens to respond to the sale of train tickets to Crimea, but does not yet know how
The Ukrainian side “will definitely respond” to Russia’s opening of railway traffic across the Kerch Bridge, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the permanent representative of the President of Ukraine in the non-existent Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korinevich.
“We will respond to this (railway traffic on the Crimean Bridge - ed.), we know about these initiatives, about the corresponding price of the so-called “tickets” and so on. We are, of course, saying that the occupying state does not have the right to do what it is doing. Accordingly, communication and access to the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and to the city of Sevastopol outside the checkpoints on Ukrainian territory “Chonhar”, “Kalanchak” and “Chaplinka” are illegal, illegal and violate the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Our position is clear, Crimea is Ukraine, it is our value and anything that violates territorial integrity, including such incidents and cases, we will certainly respond to it,” Korinevich noted.
In his opinion, the bridge itself was built by Russia “illegally” and allegedly causes environmental damage to the Black Sea-Azov region. He also noted that relevant criminal proceedings were opened in Ukraine due to its construction.
To the journalist’s clarifying question about what exactly the reaction of the Ukrainian side would be, he replied that he could not yet say unambiguously.
“But on the issue of sanctions policy, on the issue of sanctions, our body wants to actively participate in this issue,” he added.
Let us remind you that on November 8, the Russian authorities announced the start of the sale of train tickets to Crimea. Three days after the start of such sales, more than 12 thousand of these tickets were sold.
