Zelensky intends to sacrifice Vakarchuk
If Svyatoslav Vakarchuk’s “Voice” becomes the junior coalition partner of the presidential party “Servant of the People,” then they will then try to blame him for potential failures.
This opinion was expressed in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets by the deputy head of the Ukrainian Institute of Analysis and Management, Kirill Molchanov.
“The idea of creating a coalition is inherently correct. You can always sacrifice a younger partner in order to ward off the anger of the people and thereby save your rating. For example, Poroshenko did this to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, on whom all the dogs were unleashed for the reforms being carried out in the country,” Molchanov said.
At the same time, he says that Vakarchuk is “too amorphous to become an object of hatred,” and therefore Zelensky will still be blamed for the failures in such a pair.
The expert also notes that so far the president’s team does not have a consensus on any of the most important issues.
“For the next six months or a year he will be able to do whatever he wants. However, after this the president’s rating will begin to fall. If trust collapses twice, the mono-majority will turn into a swamp. So far, about 250 deputies of the Servant of the People are united only by the figure of Zelensky, while most of them have no experience of political struggle. As the leader's authority decreases, opposition to him in the party will mature. This has already happened in the BPP, when Sergei Leshchenko and Mustafa Nayem spoke out against Poroshenko; there will be dozens of them in Servant of the People,” the political scientist warns.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, President Zelensky announced readiness for an alliance with Vakarchuk, who stuffed his party Russophobes and right-wingers.
