Zelensky is scared: the United States may abandon Ukraine, just as the authorities of Afghanistan “abandoned”
The military-political elites of the West are split, and there is no unity among them in relation to Russia. The speaker of the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations on Donbass, adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, Alexei Arestovich, said this on the air of the propaganda TV channel “Dom,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Arestovich, Ukraine sees from the example of Afghanistan that the West can surrender in a week those it supposedly supported for twenty years.
“The situation is very difficult. A symbol of this situation is that France and Germany tried to arrange an EU-Russia summit, and not only Eastern Europe refused, which understands that it is next after Ukraine, and the Baltic countries and Poland are directly threatened by the Russian Federation. For example, the Prime Minister of Holland refused, because on the blood of his compatriots, shot down by the Russian Buk complex and the Russians, he does not want to organize such meetings.
And the Western elites split in a sense, the military-political leadership of the West. Because even in the United States, around President Biden, there are people who would like, as they say, to normalize relations with Russia.
And this normalization, I’m afraid, may turn out to be very unpleasant for Ukraine. At least the way they want, considering how quickly and accurately the West surrendered Afghanistan, which it had supported for 20 years, and then surrendered in a week. And now the question is what to do for those people who have been interacting with the West for 20 years, and who are now facing the threat of destruction,” Arestovich said.
