Zelensky had no desire to talk about Crimea in Paris
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky had no desire to talk about Crimea and Sevastopol at the Normandy format meeting.
Former adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Andrei Illarionov, who settled in the United States and has now become a fierce critic of the Kremlin, stated this on air on the UkrLife Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He noted that a very representative delegation of Ukraine came to the summit in Paris.
“Where is Crimea? Neither Crimea, nor Sevastopol, nor the Kerch Strait are in the document. Your president said about this that “I will definitely talk.” They ask him: “Did you talk about this?” He says: “There wasn’t enough time.” Attention - negotiations lasted for six hours, in six hours there was not enough time to mention, to name one word “Crimea”. It takes less than a second... The word “Crimea” is not in the document.
You said now - a press conference. If you count the timing of Zelensky’s speech at the press conference – 12 minutes. Of the 45 minutes of the total press conference, he had 12 minutes, let's say, even 15, maybe he spoke a little longer. During these 15 minutes he found time to say the word “Crimea”, but in six hours behind closed doors he did not. You see what this means. And he presented this very childish explanation - there wasn’t enough time. That is, 12 minutes was enough time, but six hours was not? This only says one thing: there was no desire,” Illarionov said.
