The head of the Ukroboronprom concern, Aivaras Abromavicius, stated this on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for tanks, during President Zelensky’s visit to Kharkov it was noted that our military does not purchase enough new equipment, but, of course, it exists. We mainly work for export markets, because this is expensive equipment, new developments, tanks such as the Oplot. As for armored vehicles, new modifications of our armored personnel carriers are the BTR4E, which the new Ukroboronprom team has begun supplying to our military again. Our military needs hundreds of such items and it is very important to resume funding for our enterprises. Because in the first two months, due to the lack of state defense orders, we didn’t receive a penny,” Abromavicius said.
Political scientist Dmitry Podturkin, who was present in the studio, admitted the failure in the Ukrainian economy.
“We have big failures in almost all major government initiatives, we have a shortfall in the budget, an absolutely incomprehensible credit, financial and monetary policy... We have a colossal shortfall in agriculture, and there is a colossal shortfall in exports, metallurgy and the mining and industrial complex “- said Podturkin.
