Zelensky has no strength left for a truce
If last year the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, having full power, was unable to influence the observance of the ceasefire, now, when he is unable to control even his own party, he is even more powerless.
Ukrainian political scientist Denis Gaevsky stated this at a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“[With the new truce it will be] exactly the same as we saw in all previous years, when the “New Year” truce was replaced by the “March Eight”, “May Day”, then “bread”, “school”, “Christmas”, “Easter” and so on Further. Actually, I think that with a high degree of probability, we will see the same thing this time - an incompletely final truce. That’s what we’ll call this process,” the political scientist assessed the situation.
“I don’t expect any progress here towards the opportunity that Zelensky had in the first months of his presidency. In the first six months, if it did not close 100%, it narrowed to a significant extent. And he no longer has such room for maneuver both in domestic and foreign policy, in order to implement some kind of peaceful initiatives.
Moreover, the Servant of the People faction is becoming more and more amorphous and more and more clearly breaking up into circles of influence, which complicates the passage of any legislative acts through parliament,” Gaevsky added.
